The very nature of the “shelter” concept requires Par-Kut buildings withstand the elements year-round. Along these lines and to lengthen service life, we provide customers with maintenance and care tips for their building. These recommendations are specific to each building we produce, giving instructions for upkeep on the windows, paint, doors, HVAC, and flooring. This maintenance can extend the lifespan of the booth and provide a more comfortable place to work.
Two upkeep tips that are frequently talked about are for the windows and the entry plate/floor. These areas are commonly neglected and can be problematic over the years. For example, our plastic or bullet resistant windows cannot be cleaned with a commercial glass cleaner as the chemicals in the cleaners are not meant for plastic. This can cause scratching and cracking of the glazing. Another example of poor maintenance that can lead to reduced durability is deicing. In winter, northern states use salt or other deicers to ensure safe walking conditions. However, these deicers can negatively affect the condition of the base and floor of the booth causing deterioration. We recommend rinsing or cleaning these areas as often as possible, at least once a year, and if possible, avoid deicing right next to the building.
